The light blazed down
Brilliant and stark
As we faced off
In front of a hundred brown eyes blinking hidden
I blocked the last avenue of escape
He blinked at me from behind his bronze shield
And made a last dash for freedom
I moved fast shooting with my right hand
I stunned him, took the stuffing out
I hit him with another round and he stumbled to the ground
Weak at the knees
And finally threw himself over the white cliff
In a flight of heroic finesse
I was quick to deliver the coup de grace
Foot on his neck with one more shot
Consigned him to the sea
Down a white porcelain urn
In a white shroud
Like a Viking sea warrior
A nail in the coffin of evolution
One Dead Cockroach
